At the National Space Society’s Virtual Town Hall meeting of Thursday, July 30 2020, Chicago Society for Space Studies (CSSS)received the National Space Society’s Excellence in Speaker Outreach Chapter Award. CSSS was presented with this award based on the strength and continued success of the Chicago Society for Space Studies Speakers Bureau.
The CSSS speakers bureau consists of the following CSSS members:

- Gerald Jackson
- Jim Kovac
- Kent Nebergall
- Jim Plaxco (CSSS President)
During 2019, CSSS speakers gave 51 presentations to a total audience of almost 1,900. In addition, our speakers provided the programming for three CSSS public meetings that had a combined audience of 80 people.
