The Sunday December 14, 2025 free public meeting of the Chicago Society for Space Studies (CSSS) will feature CSSS Vice President Larry Boyle and his 2025 Space Year in Review presentation. Larry’s annual summary of the key space events of the year is an annual tradition of CSSS.
Over the course of the presentation, the following topics will be discussed

- the Artemis program and a manned return to the Moon
- International Space Station operations
- the US military space program budget
- the Golden Dome program
- the Space Force’s X37-B unmanned space plane
- the growth of the commercial space sector
- SpaceX Starship developments
- Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket launches
- the first private manned polar orbit mission
- robotic missions to the Moon
- China’s manned Moon program
- China’s space station program
- the European Space Agency (ESA) expansion of its military space spending
- Japan’s new generation of unmanned cargo ships
- activities of India in space
- Russian space activities
